Author of “A Life Half Lived”, Darryl Rodgers, is speaking at Kenansville Baptist Church in Kenansville, NC, Duplin County, this Saturday, March 12th at 7 p.m. He will be telling the compelling story of his son, “Speedy” Chase Rodgers.
If you live in Duplin County or one of the surrounding counties, you don’t want to miss this story! Chase played cornerback in high school and earned a football scholarship to a college in Illinois. He was a small but quick athlete who played with heart. Chase was killed in a wreck on I-40 in Wake County on May 29th, 2014. The driver of the car was charged with a provisional DWI after police found marijuana in her purse.
The book, “A Life Half Lived” A True Story of Love, Addiction, Tragedy, and Hope, was endorsed by College Hall of Fame Coach, Bobby Bowden. It was also endorsed by Coach Tommy Bowden, and Candace Lighter of WeSaveLives.org, founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Mr. Rodgers has gained insight into the modern drug culture through his experience with Chase and some of Chase’s acquaintances. There is a heroin epidemic sweeping the nation right now and Duplin County has also been impacted by illicit drug use. “No one is immune to the drug problem that is currently sweeping the nation,” Mr. Rodgers said. “No matter where you live or what your status or income level, you or your children could be affected by drugs.”
Darryl will be available to speak with you in person and sign books after the event. For more detailed information about Chase, go to the Home Page of this website.
